I was watching MSNBC's "Connected..." yesterday and saw Ron Reagan criticize the Dems to either "put up or shut up". I plan to do a little of the first and none of the second. First of all, I usually have no problem with Ron Jr.who is far more preferrable that his late father even could or would be. The Dems "plan" should be for a full and complete withdrawl of ALL US forces as soon as possible.We had no business being there in the first place and staying just compounds the problems. I agree with Sen Feingold,but the withdrawl should be by the end of this year,not 2006. I know that this will draw the howls of protests from the slimers and panderers of Bush and his ilk,but "stay the course" is nothing more than continuing to compound the failures that the pro-Bush,pro-war crowd has foisted upon this nation for 2 and 1/2 years with no end in sight.It is said that insanity is "doing the same things over and over and over and over again and expecting a different result". What Bush and the pro-war right want is to keep making the same mistakes over and over again and expect the rest of us to shut up,sit there and take it,without complaning.I am damn sick and tired of watching young men and women being killed and maimed for Bush and his crowd who don't give and have never given a damn about one life that he has wasted in Iraq. I say let all the pro-war chickenhawks go to Iraq and die. I couldn't care one iota if the Limbaughs,the Hannitys,the Willameses,the Gibsons and the whole FAUX cabal die in Iraq. We'd be all better off without them and their noise.As for the DLC crowd that whines and bitches. Too damn bad!! It is because of you craven cowards the Dems lost in 2002 and 2004.They decided that the Dems needed to "play nice" with the GOP. You can't be nice to these backstabbing scum,who would rather rip your hearts out than lose an election. The "plan" the Dems need to carry is to continue to bash Bush and point out the entire folly of the Iraq war and how it is literally killing America. The Dems need to hold Bush and his cronies accountable publicly for their continued actions.Americans are finally awakening from their five year sleep and don't like what they see. We need to take back the Congress in 2006.I say let the GOP twist in the wind.Let them explain why we need to be there and don't let them continue to lie and obfuscate.Taking these people head on in 2005 and beyond is the only way we can win.

Congrats to Major Hackett. This is also a win for the Howard Dean and the net roots. See what happens when the Dems enlist a fighter who will challenge the lies and smears of the radical right's noise machine. Why it would have been nice to actually see Hackett win,the beginnings of turning the corrupt cesspool know as the Ohio GOP from deep red to purple to eventually deep blue is very nice. However work needs to be done as we still need to battle then fact the despite educating people some voters prefer to be perpetually and criminally ignorant. I guess that why the GOP is commonly referred to as the "stupid people's party"

First of all we all pray even if you are not a religious person,and I am not,for all those who were the victims of today's bombings in London. While it may be cold and callous to bring politics into this, you can rest assured the right WILL bring politics into this situation,so I will beat them to the proverbial punch. No doubt,the righties will crow that this is proof positive that Bush was right all along about Iraq and terrorism.No!!! What this means is that Bush's fraud war on Iraq has come home to roost. Iraq has opened up a can of worms that we cannot control. Iraq had no perceptible terror elements prior to our "invasion"(All right,there was Hussein,but he was under wraps and he was our baby for years. Iraq is now a cesspool for terrorists to the point that it is now the world's largest training ground for terrorists around the world.I know that the terrorists have demanded that the "crusader nations" as they refer to them get out now of Iraq and Afghanistan. We had no business in Iraq anyway and that point was rammed home today with bloody certainty. If we had stayed in Afghanistan and done the job that we were supposed to do, it may not have stopped the bloodshed in London,but Afghanistan,despite Bush's stupidity,would still be a vital US operation,and we actually might have the terrorists on the run for real!!!! We have also heard that Al Queda is on the run,the Taliban is in its "last hurrahs",the insurgents are in "their last throes" They look very much alive and well. Bush and his minions have for months insisted that we are 'winning the war on terror". This shows that we are not winning,we have no idea what the hell is going on, and our "intellegence" continues to suck.We cannot protect innocent lives from determined terrorists bent of creating chaos and bloodshed and Bush has been proven to be an even bigger liar than before. As for the Brits,it can be seen as either a total repudiation of Blair for being Bush's "poodle" or the Brits will show us their "stiff upper lip" and unite around Blair. Had these attacks come like Madrid's did,Blair would be out of a job today. The price one pays for being too close to Bush and his myopic,idiotic policies coming home to roost?

I watched the first five minutes or so of this afteroon's Connected Coast-to-Coast on MSNBC,that is after we had a no-news "news conference" with the Hawkins family in Utah on the rescue of their son,Brennan. It looked to me as just another transparent attempt to get some national face time in front of the cameras. I'm glad the kid is alive and well,but I don't wanna hear from Mom and Dad,and the kid isn't in a talkative mood,so let him alone. Ken Tomlinson,the new dictator,er director of PBS thinks that PBS has a "liberal bias" Good!!! I'm so damn sick and tired of the lies,frauds and distortions coming from the conservative "mainstream" media. We've known for years that the bullshit the right has trotted out about the "liberal media" is just that,bullshit. If the media were so liberal,why is the "Downing Street Memo" known since the 1st of May now just beginning to be noticed here? Why no stories on Tom Noe,and "Coingate"?  If Noe was the head of the Kerry-Edwards campaign in NE Ohio,and the State's bigwigs were Dems up to their eyeballs losing over $200 million in state funds,do you think that Limbaugh,Hannity,and FAUX wouldn't have a field day reporting on it? Outside of Ohio, and the Toledo Blade,has anyone seen a report on this story? How about Dukescam,the real estate dealings of "Duke" Cunningham,and the quid pro quo with Mitchell Wade? Another Republican,another media coverup? I saw a report today that CNN ran about super scumbag,Jack Abramoff and the sleazy dealings he had with Indian tribes. The ONLY reason this story was on is that Sen.McCain's Indian Affairs finally has gotten around to investigate it,and the ties to Tom Delay.But what does the MSM want to talk about? Natalee Holloway? I hope that she is well. If one listens to the news on this story,and since it is saturation coverage, you can't escape it for long.the overwhelming gist I get from this story is that Natalee is this American who has been done in by these ungodly foreign pieces of trash and damn it all,she's a white American and you can't treat an American like that.I hope that she is found alive and well.but the overkill (no pun intended) on this story is simply amazing. FAUX of course,goes the most overboard on this story,which if you can stomach their coverage of the story leads me to the conclusion mentioned earlier that it's the story of the white teen done in by a bunch of "foreigners". As Think Progress mentioned last week in their "pop quiz",if Holloway was black,no story. Liberal bias,my ass.

Now that Michael Jackson has been found not guilty on all charges,we can look back at this travesty and score winners and losers. Obviously the biggest wiiner is Jackson who is a free man this morning which may or may not be a win. His attornies and his fans are winners this morning,since MJ is a free man and Mesereau and team had loads to do with it. The biggest losers are the rest of the American people who didn't give a rat's ass about the whole damn thing. The media were losers especially such people as Nancy Grace,Jane-Velez Mitchell and the whole FAUX news cabal who had Jackson indicted tried and convicted. I guess the jury for whatever reasons didn't buy the story of the mother and her son both of whom are congential liars and con artists. Then there are people such as Lieberman lives who will go to his grave thinking that Jackson "got off" because of "who he is" (ie a rich,creepy black man with money,a la OJ) Now what will the media focus on? Since the media love stories about congential liars and con artists,let's focus on the George Bush,the biggest congential liar and con artist today. How about the Downing Street Memo? The war in Iraq? Gas prices? "Duke" Cunningham's home sale? Tom Delay's ethical problems? North Korean Nukes? Cheney's potty mouth? the right's hostile takeover of the media? Impeachment rumblings against Bush,Cheney and Rummy for starters? Naw, no sex and ten year olds involved. Too deep for the totally uncurious media of today. Real news,real issues? Rove and Bush can't let that happen,less someone actually pays attention to their crimes.

I just caught the tail end of the House Judiciary Cmte yesterday after Sensenbrenner the Nazi who was apparently so offended by the fact the witnesses were prepared to do something that he and the rest of the gutless GOP can't handle-the truth-that he had to resort to an act of craven cowardice. He shut down the hearings and ordered the mics to be cut off,which the majority council did as ordered. What is Sensenbrenner so damn afraid of? Why did he cut off a meeting in the middle of testimony? The GOP is deathly afraid of the fact that the sheep may actually be waking up from their four year naps and have found out that their country has been hijacked by the uber right-wing Christian theocrats who have usurped their power. These people are power mad.They are craven cowards who use such high sounding "ideals" as the (un) Patriot Act to further their nefarious means. These people are a danger to not only us but the rest of the world. They need to be stopped. And now!!!!

Just heard the news that Vanity Fair is reporting that former #2 man,at the FBI,W Mark Felt is Deep Throat. Having grown up in Connecticut in the 70's,I'm very well aware of Watergate and the impact it had on politics and the nation in the 1970's. In fact,I am a liberal Democrat becuase of Watergate and the lies and deceptions and the trashing of the Constitution during the Nixon era. If Felt indeed turns out to be Deep Throat,then this nation owes Mr.Felt a deep gratitude of thanks for helping,even under cover and in secret,for rooting out and helping to oust the stench eminating from the Nixon White House.It's also funny that Nixon was such a firm believer in J Egdar Hoover that Hoover's office was the home of the most famous source in America.(Yes I know that Hoover died in 1972.)Its too damn bad that we don't have nay courageous souls to act as moles against this scandal plagued,criminal cabal who has infested the White House today.It would also help if we had a press that actually would have the balls to ferret out and actually do their jobs and report on the cess pool of crime and coruption that Dumbya has unleashed.
